LAGOS DSVA’S Community Engagement takes SGBV Advocacy to MUSHIN LG CDA

 


The Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency (DSVA) has once again engaged with the Community Development Committee (CDC) members of Mushin LG during their monthly meeting.


As part of the Agency’s mandate to curb the menace of Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV) and minimize its occurrence, the Executive Secretary, Mrs. Titilola Vivour-Adeniyi, emphasized the importance of continuous engagement with CDAs. 



She said the Agency had visited many CDAs and CDCs such as Ifako, ⁠Igando Ikotun, Orile Agege Iru, Lagos mainland, Agege, ⁠Ojodu, Imota, Ajeromi Ifelodun and Ikorodu North for CDCs and CDAs include Apapa, Eti Osa

Ajeromi Ifelodun, Badagry, Badagry West, Ikorodu North Imota, Ifako Ijaiye to mention some.


She encouraged participants to speak up as mandated reporters when such issues arise, to ensure that justice can prevail.


The Agency Advocacy Team was received by the vice chairman of the CDC, Otunba Taiwo Odunsi, and explained the purpose of the visit.


Mr. Damilare Adewusi highlighted the importance of participants acting as watchdogs and paying close attention to issues related to SGBV. 


He noted that the agency collaborates with various partners to combat this menace. 


The meeting, attended by 35 participants, included a Q&A session that allowed for detailed interaction. 


The available Family Support Unit (FSU) services were listed, and the toll-free line of 0-8000-333-333 was shared.
