The Alimosho command of the Lagos State Neighborhood Safety Agency has arrested a female sexagenerian suspected to be dealing in fake drugs.
Officers of the command had responded to a distress call from a family on Thursday the 14th of November, 2024 after ingesting Anti-biotics procured from a female roadside drug hawker.
The victims one Mulikat Mojirayo aged 62 years and her son, 19 year old Abdulraheem Azeez were reported to have taken ill after ingesting the unmarked antibiotics purchased from the suspect, one Funmi Lawal (60)who said she has been in the business for over 15 years.
Upon her arrest, the case was transferred to the Headquarters of the Agency for preliminary investigation and interrogation which shows that the suspect is well known in her area around Alimosho local government of Lagos State.
The suspect and her wares, suspected to be faked or expired drugs have since been transferred to the police for further investigation and possible prosecution.
The General Manager of the Agency, Prince Dr Ifalade Oyekan fsin in his reaction advised the general public to avoid self medication and roadside drug stores and hawkers.
