On December 11th, 2024, the Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency (DSVA) hosted representatives from the Canadian Fund for Local Initiatives @canada_nigeria on a courtesy visit. The delegation included Mathilde Ouellet, Second Secretary of the High Commission of Canada to Nigeria (Political), and Oluwademilade Kosemani, Senior Public Affairs Officer.
The meeting focused on potential collaborations between the two organizations to combat sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV). Central to the discussions was the goal of empowering women to speak up against SGBV while improving their access to vital information and support services.
This partnership reflects a shared commitment to fostering safer communities and ensuring women have the tools and resources needed to combat SGBV effectively. Together, Lagos DSVA and the Canadian High Commission to Nigeria aim to drive meaningful change for a better, more inclusive society.
