The Lagos State Ministry of Information and Strategy has been adjudged the Best Online Media Reporter at the Stakeholders Appreciation Awards commemorating Universal Health Coverage (UHC) Day 2024 by the Lagos State Health Management Agency (LASHMA).
The award was presented in recognition of outstanding reporting, creativity and dedication to delivering timely, accurate and engaging digital social media content on Ilera Eko Health Insurance Schem
Receiving the award on behalf of the Ministry, Dr. Olajide Atansuyi, Director of the Social Media Department, expressed delight and gratitude for the recognition, just as he emphasised that his team would continue to amplify critical health messages and drive public awareness of government policies and programmes.
He reiterated the vision of the Ministry to leverage all media platforms, especially online media, to ensure that information about the good work of the Sanwo-Olu administration across all pillars of the T.H.E.M.E.S Plus Agenda reaches every nook and cranny of Lagos State.
Atansuyi said, “Our goal has always been to use the power of social media to connect with Lagosians, providing them with timely and relevant information while fostering a culture of transparency and accountability. This recognition is a testament to the dedication of our team and the visionary leadership of the Lagos State Government”.
He thanked the Honourable Commissioner, Mr. Gbenga Omotoso and the Permanent Secretary, Mr. Olumide Sogunle, for providing the leadership and resources that earned recognition of the Ministry for the award.
“This award reflects the unwavering commitment of our principals to using innovative digital platform strategies to ensure every Lagos resident is informed about the government’s achievements in all sectors of the Lagos economy. It is a testament to their critical thinking and creativity to enhance Lagos State Government’s social media influence”, Atansuyi said.
The ILERA EKO initiative, a flagship healthcare scheme of the Lagos State Government, aims to provide affordable, accessible and quality health services to residents.
The Ministry of Information and Strategy has played a pivotal role in disseminating vital information about the programme through its digital platforms, ensuring broad public engagement and support.
