On December 1, 2024, Lagos DSVA visited Igbogbo Community, Ikorodu, as part of the 16 Days of Activism. The Adeboruwa of Igbogbo, Alaiyeluwa Oba Semiudeen Orimadegun Kasali, commended DSVA for its efforts against gender-based violence (GBV) and emphasized education over child hawking to safeguard children’s futures.
Dr. Bountiful Taiwo-Adelanwa reaffirmed DSVA’s commitment to eradicating abuse, outlining services like case management, Alternative Dispute Resolution, empowerment initiatives, psychological support, and the 24/7 Virtual Referral and Response Service (VRRS). She highlighted that offenses like relations with minors carry severe penalties and urged parental vigilance in nurturing children and fostering respect.
Participants were reminded of their role as mandated reporters, with the toll-free line 08000-333-333 emphasized for confidential reporting. The session concluded with a collective pledge to combat SGBV and foster a violence-free Lagos, reinforcing DSVA’s mission.
