Lagos State is  installing 22, 000 Sollar Street Lights to permanently light Lagos State roads and streets in the night. This was part of the information released by Mr Omotosho the Lagos State Commissioner of Information and Strategy while answering questions at the yesterday's Joint Citizens and Media Engagement Forum in Alausa Ikeja.

The Commissioner said that Lagos State was spending about N600m monthly in buying fuel for the Generators that empower street lights in Lagos State and that such amount of spending is not sustainable.

He assured Lagosians that permanent solution of getting Lagos Street Lights working in the night is solar Power and that  the proactive and efficiency driven Governor Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu government of Lagos State is installing 22,000 Solar Street Lights as permanent, cheap and enduring solution to the need of making Lagos State roads and streets bright in the night.

The Joint Citizens and Media Engagement Forum involved a 15 minutes documentary on the astronomical developmental efforts of Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu government in Lagos State which highlighted numerous finished and ongoing projects that included Housing, Transportation, Security, Education, Health, Road infrastructure, Culture and Tourism with Citizens Welfare and Food Security.

The Doyen of Community Media in Nigeria and the Publisher of the Oriwusun Newspaper , Alhaji Monsur Olowosago who was among the Special Guests, thanked the Lagos State Government under Babajide Sanwo-Olu for beginning to appreciate the vital roles of the Community Media. He stated that there is no doubt that community media practitioners play salient roles as feedback mechanism to the government from the grassroots.

He specifically asked the present government in Lagos State to empower the Community Media Practitioners to help them to  project  the policies, programmes, and achievements of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu led Government in the  implementation of the T.H.E.M.E.S. Plus Agenda.
