The Director-General of the Institute for Peace and Conflict Resolution (IPCR), Dr. Joseph Ochogwu, led the management team of the Institute to a hearing conducted by the House of Representatives Committee on Public Accounts at the National Assembly of Nigeria.
The Public Accounts Committee, a pivotal body of the National Assembly in the green chamber, is tasked with the responsibility of scrutinizing government financial expenditures to ensure taxpayer’s money is efficiently utilized. This Committee is chaired by Rt. Hon. Bamidele Salam.
During the hearing, Dr. Joseph Ochogwu provided a detailed overview of the mandate, mission and activities of the IPCR. He also presented a comprehensive account of his stewardship, highlighting the implementation of the Institute's projects and programmes as outlined in the Appropriation Act within the reporting period.
The committee carefully reviewed the Director-General's presentation and offered strong recommendations to enhance the Institute's internal financial systems and operations. These recommendations aim to bolster effective service delivery and increase productivity.
