In fulfilment of the Lagos State Public Procurement Law 2021 (Section 33), the Lagos State Teaching Service Commission, TESCOM, has constituted and inaugurated the Year 2025 Procurement Planning Committee.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, the Permanent Secretary, Teaching Service Commission, Mrs. Adebopo Oyekan-Ismaila highlighted the importance of the Procurement Planning Committee which is statutory every financial year.
While seeking the cooperation and understanding of members of the committee in the discharge of their duties, she noted that with the inauguration of the Committee, the Commission is on the right path in planning its procurement processes as stipulated in Section 26 of the procurement law.
Members of the Committee comprise of the Permanent Secretary the Accounting Officer as Chairman, the representative of the Procurement Unit, who serves as the Secretary of the Committee, Heads of Departments and Units being the end users and Technical Personnel.
The Procurement Planning Committee, amongst other functions, is to prepare need assessment and evaluation, cost analysis, annual budget expenditure integration, and ensure the use of appropriate procurement methods in each procurement process.
