The Lagos State Physical Planning Permit Authority (LASPPPA) has appealed to building owners and developers who have deviated from their approved planning permit granted them by the state to regularize them and ensure compliance.
LASPPPA disclosed this yesterday that it observed widespread violations like improper land use, encroachment on airspaces, inadequate parking provisions, unauthorized increases in building volume, and insufficient setbacks, among other infractions in a statewide monitoring exercise.
The agency warned building owners and developers that “failure to adhere to the stipulations outlined in an approved planning permit renders such a permit void.”
It stated that during its enforcement activities, the Authority “observed widespread violations, including improper land use, encroachment on airspaces, inadequate parking provisions, unauthorized increases in building volume, and insufficient setbacks, among other infractions”.
These violations, the agency added “attract sanctions, including the sealing of properties, even when a planning permit has been issued.”
It urged “property owners and developers whose structures have deviated from their approved plans to visit the nearest LASPPPA District Office or its Headquarters to regularize their planning permits and ensure compliance with regulations.”
