Lagos DSVA, in its bid to sensitize Thrift and Credit Cooperative Societies throughout the state on the dangers of Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV), has engaged the Alimosho Cooperative Area Office recently at the Annual seminar of the society.
The Cooperators as stakeholders in the fight against SGBV were sensitized by the representative of the Executive Secretary, Ms. Oluwabunmi Amosu, a community engagement officer in the Agency.
Over 250 Cooperators were engaged and were exposed to the issues surrounding SGBV, and the need for them to say something when they see something as stakeholders and Mandated Reporters of SGBV,
Support services available to survivors were further explained to the Cooperators and the Agency Official Toll Line was dictated in such a way that it can easily be remembered.
Mrs. Busola Adebimpe Akin-Bajomo, the Alimosho Cooperative Area Officer expressed gratitude to the Lagos DSVA and the State government for bringing the engagement to the Society and promised to ensure the full participation of the members as mandated reporters in kicking SGBV out of the State.
