The 2025 International Children’s Day celebration may have come and gone, but the joyful memories it created for the children of Oshodi-Isolo Constituency-01 will linger for a long time. Hon. Ogundipe Stephen Olukayode, fondly known as Omoj’omolo, who represents the constituency at the Lagos State House of Assembly, hosted a heartwarming event tagged *“Children’s Day with Omoj’omolo”* held at the expansive premises of Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, GRA, Ikeja to mark the occasion.
The celebration formed part of Hon. Ogundipe's broader welfare initiative aimed at supporting parents and guardians in celebrating their children meaningfully. The programme also sought to inspire the young ones to lead lives rooted in positive values. Designed to foster unity and solidarity among children across all wards in the constituency, the event featured inclusive participation from various groups, caucuses, and religious backgrounds.
Speaking at the event, Hon. Ogundipe emphasized the importance of compassion and generosity, especially on such a special day dedicated to children.
“First and foremost, Happy Children’s Day to all our wonderful children,” he began.
“Today, I join families across the globe especially in Oshodi-Isolo Constituency-1 to celebrate the heart and hope of our nation: our children. On this special day, we honor your innocence, your dreams, and your immense potential.”
He reaffirmed his commitment to advocating for children’s rights to quality education, healthcare, safety, and a promising future.
“You deserve to grow in an environment where your talents are nurtured and your voices are heard. These qualities are on full display here today,” he said.
Hon. Ogundipe encouraged the children to remain steadfast in their aspirations. “Never stop dreaming, never stop believing in yourselves, and never stop being who you are. Your curiosity, courage, and kindness will shape a better tomorrow.”
Reiterating his dedication to community engagement, he called on all stakeholders, leaders, parents, teachers, and citizens to take collective responsibility in nurturing the younger generation.
“Let this day remind us of our duty to protect and empower the children of our community. Together, we must build a society where every child in Oshodi-Isolo and beyond can thrive,” he concluded.
The event was filled with excitement and laughter, as the children enjoyed sumptuous meals, refreshing drinks, games, dancing competitions, and received branded school materials.
Parents and children alike expressed deep gratitude for the thoughtful initiative. Many offered prayers for Hon. Ogundipe, asking for continued divine wisdom and blessings upon him.
