Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service Receives FRSC Lagos Command on Courtesy Visit

The Director of the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, Adeseye Margaret Abimbola, today received the Lagos State Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Kehinde Ganiyu Hamzat, and his team during a courtesy visit to the agency’s headquarters in Alausa, Ikeja.

The visit provided a platform for both agencies to discuss areas of mutual interest, particularly collaboration in emergency response and public safety. In his remarks, Hamzat commended the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service for its professionalism and dedication to saving lives. He noted the similarities in the core responsibilities of both agencies and expressed his desire for a more robust and cordial partnership moving forward.

In a warm and culturally reflective gesture, the Sector Commander proposed that such inter-agency engagements in the South-West could occasionally be conducted in the Yoruba language, as he observed this practice fosters unity and inclusiveness in other parts of the country where he has served.

Responding, Adeseye assured the FRSC of the Fire Service’s commitment to inter-agency collaboration. She provided an overview of the agency’s achievements, operational roadmap, and the challenges encountered in recent years, emphasizing the importance of cooperation in overcoming systemic hurdles and improving response efficiency.

The visit concluded with a guided tour of the Fire Service Headquarters, giving the FRSC team an opportunity to observe the facility and equipment.
