Civil Society Honors Engr. Dr. Valentine Buraimoh for Exemplary Leadership as Executive Chairman of Amuwo-Odofin Local Government

 


Leaders of civil society organizations gathered on Thursday  to honor Engr. Dr. Valentine Buraimoh, Executive Chairman of Amuwo-Odofin Local Government, for his remarkable leadership and service over an impressive tenure of eight years. In a ceremony filled with encomiums and reflections, Dr. Buraimoh was celebrated for his dedication to the community, developmental initiatives, and visionary governance.


The event, held at the Multipurpose Hall of the council secretariat in Festac, was attended by notable leaders from various civil society groups including Alhaji Jubril Ogudimu, Femi Lawson, Declan Ihekhare, Gbenga Soloki, Alhaji Toyin Raheem, Akintunde Adedeji, and St. Jericho. Their presence underscored the broad-based support and recognition Engr. Dr. Buraimoh has garnered during his time in office.


In his address, Femi Lawson praised Dr. Buraimoh for his unwavering commitment to improving infrastructure, education, and healthcare services in Amuwo-Odofin, describing his leadership as "exemplary and transformative." Gbenga Soloki highlighted the innovative projects initiated under Dr. Buraimoh's administration that have left a lasting impact on the local community.


Not only was the event a valedictory, but it also served as a platform to formally recognize Dr. Buraimoh's contributions with a prestigious recognition award presented by the civil society group. A book was also commissioned to his honour. This award symbolizes the community's gratitude and respect for his outstanding service and leadership.



Chairman-Elect, Prince Lanre Sanusi, who was also present, commended Dr. Buraimoh for setting a high standard of governance. "As I step into this role, I am inspired by the path you have paved and am committed to continuing your legacy of excellence," said Sanusi.


Engr. Dr. Buraimoh, in his remarks, expressed his heartfelt appreciation to the civil society leaders and the community at large for their support over the years. He reiterated his commitment to remain an active participant in the progress of Amuwo-Odofin, pledging his continued support for community development initiatives.


The event concluded with a series of tributes and performances, celebrating not only a distinguished career but also the robust spirit of collaboration between local government and civil society.
