Alubarika Movement Celebrates Two Years of Purposeful Service — SRJ: The Proof, The Promise, The Path Forward for Osun

By Kehinde Olamolu

In a political climate often dominated by rhetoric and recycled leadership, Senator (Dr.) Surajudeen Ajibola Basiru, the National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has emerged over the past two years as a beacon of reform, coordination, and intellectual clarity. His tenure at the apex of Nigeria’s ruling party has not only proven his capacity for national political engineering but has also redefined what strategic leadership looks like in modern Nigerian democracy.
As National Secretary, SRJ played a critical role in steering the APC through one of the most pivotal election cycles in the Fourth Republic — Edo and Ondo state Gubernatorial elections. He was central to the party’s electoral preparedness, intra-party cohesion, and communication realignment, working hand-in-hand with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, The national chairman that symbolized the party National working committee, and other key national stakeholders to deliver victory across executive and legislative lines.

His influence extended beyond the confines of Abuja. He coordinated robust stakeholder engagements across the six geopolitical zones, built strong bridges between party leaders and grassroots structures, and ensured that critical reforms — such as party digitalization, real-time communication strategy, and internal electoral transparency — were not just promised but delivered. From pre-election mobilization to post-election reconciliation, SRJ was a central figure in neutralizing factional threats, particularly in states with volatile political terrains.

One of the hallmarks of his leadership has been his ability to balance loyalty to power with a commitment to principle. As a lawyer and tested former Senate spokesperson, SRJ brought to the Secretariat a blend of legal rigor, policy depth, and strategic finesse. His office was not a rubber stamp — it was an engine room of ideas and execution. Even in controversial times, he stood out for his calm reasoning, deft diplomacy, and firm defense of the party’s constitution.

Under his watch, APC did not merely survive — it was stabilized, restructured, and given a renewed strategic direction. This wasn’t accidental; it was a result of his collaborative leadership style that respected hierarchy while inspiring initiative across the party spectrum. Whether working with governors, senators, national youth leaders, women leaders, or state chairmen, SRJ earned trust not through entitlement, but through earned credibility and visible competence.

For us in the ALUBARIKA Movement, these two years of excellence are more than a political milestone — they are a powerful testimonial. They confirm what we have long believed and consistently declared: Senator Surajudeen Ajibola Basiru is a rare national asset — and Osun’s best option for strategic, inclusive governance come 2026.

What he has done with a pen and structure at the national level, we believe he can multiply with executive authority in Osun. His administrative command, intellectual depth, and political maturity have shown us that he doesn’t need to buy loyalty — he inspires it. And in a time when Osun needs not just a governor but a governor with ideas, experience, and delivery track record, SRJ stands ready.

We therefore do not merely mark his second anniversary in office — we mobilize around his future. We applaud his past and campaign for what lies ahead. He has worked collaboratively with other party executive members to stabilize a nation's party; now let us have him to stabilize and transform Osun State to a *NEW DAWN*.
