In a bold move to empower the next generation, the Executive Chairman of Ikeja Local Government, Comrade Akeem Olalekan Dauda (AKOD), has announced the provision of 200 FREE GCE forms for eligible candidates in Ikeja.
Speaking during an interactive session with the youths of Ikeja yesterday to mark the 2025 International Youth Day, Chairman AKOD reiterated that his administration’s priority remains youth transformation, promotion, education, and human capacity development.
Setting a new record in Ikeja Local Government, AKOD revealed that, beyond distributing the forms, free intensive tutorials will be organised for all 200 beneficiaries to ensure they succeed in the examination.
In his words:
"We are not just giving out free GCE forms for political reasons. Every eligible candidate, irrespective of tribe and religion, will have a chance. We are pairing the forms with free tutorials so that those who receive them will also pass with flying colours. This is about real empowerment, not just promises."
Chairman AKOD assured the youths that his administration is for them; not just in words, but in visible, life-changing actions. This initiative is part of the broader AKOD Agenda, aimed at building a generation of educated, skilled, and globally competitive Ikeja youths.
With this unprecedented gesture, Ikeja is set to produce more scholars, more achievers, and more future leaders.
