Elgee Info Media proudly announces the second edition of the Lagos Grassroots Achievers Award (LGAA), slated to hold on Sunday, October 12, 2025, at the prestigious Victoria Garden Event Centre, Alausa, Ikeja. The event continues its mission of spotlighting individuals and institutions that are shaping and transforming grassroots governance across Lagos State.
The Lagos Grassroots Achievers Award, convened by Samuel Akinyemi, recognizes public office holders, political party leaders, grassroots professionals, past and serving council chairmen, traditional rulers, and other key contributors whose selfless service and innovation have impacted lives at the community level.
This year’s edition follows the resounding success of the 2024 inaugural event, which was reviewed and commended by the Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu. Governor Sanwo-Olu was also a 2024 recipient of the award in recognition of his administration’s inclusive approach to grassroots development. He returns this year as the Special Guest of Honour, reinforcing the government’s endorsement and support for the values this award upholds.
Delivering the keynote address will be Comrade Ayodele Adewale, the APC State Organizing Secretary and former Executive Chairman of Amuwo Odofin Local Government, whose deep experience in grassroots administration aligns with the event’s 2025 theme:
“Strengthening Grassroots Leadership for Sustainable Development.”
Key highlights of the 2025 edition include:
• Presentation of Awards to outstanding grassroots changemakers across various sectors and communities.
• A compelling audiovisual storytelling documentary, chronicling the real-life impact stories of honourees and their contributions.
• The official unveiling of a special compendium, a carefully curated publication that documents the transformational work of award recipients and nominees for posterity and policy inspiration.
