In a fresh move to strengthen governance and reposition the Lagos State civil service for greater efficiency, Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu has approved the appointment of nine new Permanent Secretaries across key ministries, departments, and agencies
The announcement was contained in an official circular, numbered 069 and dated September 23, 2025, which emphasized that the appointments took effect from September 22, 2025.
According to the circular, the newly appointed Permanent Secretaries are:
Ojikutu Rafiu Olawale – Motor Vehicles Administration Agency
Paseda Olufemi Bamidele – Education District III
Adedeji Oluwakemi Amudat – Ministry of Economic Planning and Budget
Onigbanjo Muhammed Tijani Babatunde – Office of Chief of Staff
Pitan Adesola Ayodele – Health Service Commission
Omololu Olufemi Motunolani – Health Service Commission
Sanni Omotayo Layemo – Education District IV
Alaska Monsurat Titilope – Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH)
Oyenuga Olutokunbo Olayode – Office of Infrastructure
The circular further explained that the appointments were in line with the Governor’s commitment to “reinvigorate the State’s policy implementation apparatus” by injecting fresh energy into the system.
It also clarified that while the appointments have already taken effect, the specific postings and deployment of the new Permanent Secretaries will be announced in due course.
Governor Sanwo-Olu’s administration has consistently emphasized the importance of a vibrant and effective civil service in driving policy execution, service delivery, and governance reforms.
