The Institute of Peace and Conflict Resolution (IPCR) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with four organizations to enhance peace building and conflict prevention efforts in Nigeria.
The partnering organizations include:
- Zamkah Technologies Limited
- Research Center for Advocacy and Policy Advisory in Africa (ReCAP Africa)
- Inter-faith Mediation Center (IMC)
- Compart Foundation for Justice and Peace Building
The MoUs aim to leverage the expertise and experiences of these organizations to promote peace and stability in Nigeria. The areas of focus are to strengthen partnerships and collaboration to foster peace and stability and to develop strategies that would prevent and manage conflicts.
With collective action and shared responsibility, the partnering organizations aim to make a meaningful impact in promoting peace, security, and reconciliation in Nigeria.
The MoU with Zamkah Technologies Limited formalizes a strategic partnership to support the execution of IPCR's mandates through technological innovation, digital outreach, capacity building, civic awareness, and community engagement. It also aims to enhance mechanisms for peace building, conflict prevention, and civic participation.
The MoU with ReCAP Africa establishes a framework for collaboration and outlines key principles agreed upon between IPCR and ReCAP Africa across all areas of ReCAP Africa's specialty.
IPCR and Inter-faith Mediation Center have agreed to explore potential collaboration areas, including sensitization, conflict early warning and early response management, and capacity building to promote religious harmony and peaceful co-existence.
Similarly, IPCR and Compart Foundation for Justice and Peace Building have agreed to explore potential collaboration areas, including sensitization and capacity building of football coaches, youths, secondary school students, law enforcement, and security agencies, towards achieving proactive safety and security services delivery that promotes peaceful co-existence and creates a better Nigeria.
