The Director General of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Mrs. Zubaida Umar, has commended retired staff of the Agency for leaving behind a legacy of service characterized by dedication, sacrifice, and commitment to humanitarian causes.
She gave the commendation 11th September, 2025, in Abuja during a special send-forth ceremony organized in honour of the retirees. Mrs. Zubaida Umar noted that their years of service had contributed immensely to the growth of NEMA and the strengthening of Nigeria’s disaster management system. She further urged serving staff to emulate the retirees by upholding professionalism, discipline, and passion for service to humanity.
The retirees expressed their deep appreciation to the Director General and Management of NEMA for the honour accorded them and assured that they would continue to be worthy ambassadors of the Agency even after active service, pledging their continued support whenever called upon.
The event, which brought together management, staff, and friends of the Agency, was marked by tributes and goodwill messages celebrating the remarkable contributions of the retired officers.
