The Lagos State Government yesterday, 29th October, 2025 distributed over 1,000 cheques to indigent citizens and residents of the State under its financial assistance programme tagged: "Eko cares" at the blue roof, Agidingbi, Lagos.
Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo- Olu ably represented by his deputy,Dr Obafemi Hamzat was the Chief host at the event that attracted over 1,000 beneficiaries of the financial support programme of the Lagos State Government through the Office of Political, Legislative and Civic Engagement which covers business, accommodation, education and health challenges.
It was an electrifying atmosphere as the programme provide opportunities for beneficiaries to enjoy and access various laudable programmes of the Lagos State Government using the resolver application for citizen's engagement.
In his keynote address, the Lagos State Governor emphasized the relevance and importance of people centred policies and programmes under the THEMES PLUS agenda of which social security is one of the central intricacies.
The Special Adviser to the Governor on Political, Legislative and Civic Engagement, Dr Afolabi Abiodun Tajudeen while appreciating the Government in his welcome address appealed to beneficiaries to make good use of the opportunities provided by the Lagos State Government under the leadership of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
Beneficiaries were full of praise for the Babajide Sanwo-Olu led administration for heeding to the needs of the masses through his various people's centered programmes which help in alleviating poverty and complementing the efforts of the Federal Government.
