GOVERNOR BAGO CALLS FOR RELIGIOUS TOLERANCE AMONG NIGERIANS.

 


Niger State Governor, farmer Mohammed Umaru Bago, has advocated the need for Nigerians to imbibe the spirit of religious tolerance for the peace and development of the nation.


Farmer Umaru Bago stated this when he received the former Niger State Governor and Senator representing Niger North Senatorial District, Sen. Abubakar Sani Bello who paid him a visit at the Government House to commiserate with him over the abduction of schoolchildren in Papiri,Agwara Local Government Area of the State.


The State Governor who appreciated Sen. Abubakar Sani Bello for the visit commended him for his compassion, commitment to the wellbeing of his people and for his advice and support to his administration 


Farmer Governor Umaru Bago described what happened in Papiri as disheartening and reaffirmed that his administration will continue to safeguard all citizens even as he commended the efforts of the Federal Government and security agencies in their continuous efforts to rescue the abducted children. 


The farmer governor called on Nigerians to keep on praying and fasting for the safe return of the children and expressed optimism of their safe return.


Sen. Abubakar Sani Bello in his remarks said, he came to commiserate with the governor and the people of Niger State over what he described as sad and unfortunate adding that, what has happened is a test from Allah and urged the farmer governor to remain strong.


He said that during his time as Governor, the state experienced cases of kidnapping twice and recalled how terrifying it was. 


Sen. Abubakar Bello described prayers as key and urged the residents of the state to keep praying fervently for the safe return of those in captivity while reassuring the farmer Governor of his continued support.
