GOVERNOR’S AIDE AWARDS SCHOLARSHIPS TO PWDs TO CELEBRATE 2025 IDPD

 


In commemoration of the year 2025 International Day of Persons Living with Disabilities (IDPD), the Special Adviser to Lagos State Governor on Central Internal Audit, Dr. Oyeyemi Ayoola has awarded educational scholarships to individuals living with disabilities, from primary school through university level.


The presentation of the scholarship took place at the IDPD event held at Odi-Olowo/Ojuwoye LCDA Secretariat Hall, Ilupeju, Mushin, this was witnessed by members of the physically Challenged Community, stakeholders and PWD supporters.


Ayoola, who joined the PWD in celebrating the global observance of IDPD, praised their resilience, strength and unwavering determination to contribute meaningfully to society despite their physical limitations. 


She expressed admiration for their drive to excel and reaffirmed her belief that disability should never hinder access to opportunities.



Speaking at the ceremony, the Governor’s Aide, pledged her continued support for PWDs, emphasising that the scholarship initiative reflects her belief in a more inclusive society. 


According to her, investing in the education of the physically challenged children remains one of the most powerful ways of empowering them and ensuring that they participate fully in nation-building.


The beneficiaries and their families expressed profound gratitude, describing the scholarships as a life-changing intervention that will ease financial burdens and open doors to brighter futures for them.
