GREAT IFE ALUMNI MOURNS THE EXIT OF ITS PRO- CHANCELLOR, PROF. OYEWESO, SAYS IT'S A LOSS TO HUMANITY

               

 
The Global Great Ife Alumni Association has described the passing of Professor  AbdulGaffar Siyan Oyeweso, Council Chairman and Pro-Chancellor of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, as a great loss not only to the academic community but to the humanity.

In a condolence statement signed by both the Global President and Publicity Secretary, Barr. Leye Bunmi Falode and Abdur-Rahman Balogun respectively, stated that his sudden demise at this time was not only sad , painful but shocking to the alumni body.

The Association said that the death of the international Scholar will be sorely missed by not only the University community but the global Alumni being an active alumnus member too.

Prof. Oyeweso had a midas touch since his childhood, he was an excellent and exceptional brilliant child which reflected in all facets of his life as a teacher, Lecturer, scholar, historian, astute administrator and a great humanist.

Oyeweso, who lived *an* impactful life, was not just a scholar but an epitome of humility, a standard-bearer of integrity and a courageous and principled personality.

Everyone can testify to his unwavering influence and proactive achievements he made within his short time as the Chairman of council and Pro-Chancellor of our great institution with the hope of injecting more ideas as the University prepare for its convocation in a matter of days.

Our consolation is that though his life was cut short at 64 as destined by his Creator, he lived a fulfilled and impactful life .

Our prayers to Allah is to accept him into His blessings, console his family , friends and other stakeholders in the best form, forgive his shortcomings and reward him with Aljanah firdaus.
