The Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, has been honoured with the prestigious Man of the Year Award at the 15th Anniversary and Awards Ceremony of Nigeria News Direct, held on Friday evening at the Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos.
According to the organisers, the Governor received the recognition in acknowledgement of his dynamic, people-focused, and result-driven governance, which has significantly accelerated the development trajectory of Lagos State.
They noted that under his visionary THEMES+ Agenda, Lagos has witnessed groundbreaking achievements across key sectors, including transportation, healthcare, housing, education, environmental sustainability, and security.
Notably, the successful delivery of landmark infrastructure projects such as the Blue and Red Rail Lines, the expansion of modern housing schemes, renewed investments in public health facilities, and far-reaching reforms in education were highlighted as shining examples of his transformative impact.
Receiving the award on behalf of the Governor, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Information and Strategy, Mr. Olanrewaju Bajulaiye, expressed appreciation to the organisers, describing the honour as a clear endorsement of the administration’s commitment to building a better, smarter, and more inclusive Lagos for all.
Governor Sanwo-Olu, in his appreciation message, stated: “I am humbled to receive this esteemed award.
