The North‑East Development Commission (NEDC) on Thursday handed over a consignment of nutritional edibles to Borno State Ministry of Health, a move aimed at curbing malnutrition among children in the state.
The handover, carried out by NEDC Managing Director/CEO Mohammad G. Alkali represented by Engr. Mohammed U. Wasada forms part of the commission’s broader mandate to strengthen the healthcare system across the North‑East geopolitical zone.
Borno State Commissioner for Health, who received the food items on behalf of the state government, thanked the Commission for the timely support and expressed satisfaction with the gesture. The commissioner noted that the nutritional supplies would be distributed to vulnerable communities and health facilities, directly benefiting children at risk of malnutrition.
