The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) on Monday, 8 December 2025, hosted a send-off and birthday celebration in honour of Assistant Comptroller-General Teni Daniyan, who retired as ACG in charge of Excise, Free Trade Zone and Industrial Incentives. The event, held at the NCS Headquarters in Abuja, drew senior officers, family members, friends and well-wishers who gathered to celebrate his exemplary career.
Colleagues paid glowing tributes to ACG Daniyan’s integrity, discipline and leadership. Deputy Comptroller-General Kikelomo Adeola praised his mentorship and steady guidance, describing him as “a dependable pillar of the Service.” DCG Timi Bomodi commended his composure and professionalism in managing complex administrative responsibilities.
In his remarks, DCG Tijjani Abe, in charge of NCS Human Resources and Development Department, wished him success in the next chapter of his life, while DCG Caroline Niagwan, in charge of the Tariff and Trade Department, highlighted his calm and balanced approach to leadership.
In his vote of thanks on behalf of the Excise, Free Trade Zone and Industrial Incentives, DCG Musa Omale appreciated the attendees and acknowledged ACG Daniyan’s lasting contributions to the Department.
Director of Legal Services, Smart Akande, described Daniyan as a man of impeccable character who worked with fairness, clarity and an unwavering commitment to due process.
In his remarks, ACG Daniyan expressed deep appreciation to the Comptroller-General of Customs and the NCS management team. He reflected on a career built on teamwork, discipline and shared dedication to national development.
“For all the experiences I’ve gathered over the years, I say thank you. I may have stepped on toes or offended some people, but I’m mortal, I’m human. I ask for mercy and forgiveness.
“I say this because we are not perfect. In discharging our functions, we must have done one or two things wrong. Thank you all for gathering here. May the glory of God continue to rest upon you all,” he said.
The ceremony, which also marked his birthday, featured emotional tributes and moments of reflection, highlighting both his professional achievements and personal impact on colleagues.
