In a bid to strengthen the relationships and create sustainable partnerships among key stakeholders, including policymakers, as well as improve coordination and cooperation between the Executive and Legislative Arms of Government, the Lagos State Government, through the Office of Political, Legislative and Civic Engagement (OPL&CE), is set to host the 19th edition of the Executive and Legislative parley.
The Parley is scheduled to take place from Tuesday, 21st to Thursday, 23rd April 2026, at Eko Hotels and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos.
The parley, which is a strategic platform designed to strengthen the synergy between the Executive and Legislative Arms of Government, will focus on the theme: “Equal Participation in Governance: Highlighting the Importance of Collaboration in Achieving the THEMES Plus Agenda”.
Speaking on the significance of the programme, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Political, Legislative and Civic Engagement, Dr. Afolabi Abiodun Tajudeen, FFAN, FCIA, noted that the Executive and Legislative Parley remains a critical avenue for promoting effective and inclusive Governance, enhancing policy alignment, and ensuring that the collective goals of Governance are pursued through shared responsibility and inclusive participation.
The event is expected to bring together key stakeholders from the Executive and Legislative Arms, as well as relevant Government functionaries, to deliberate on strengthening collaboration, deepening democratic engagement, and improving service delivery to Lagos residents.
Recall that the 18th Executive and Legislative Parley was held from March 14 to 16, 2024, at Eko Hotels & Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos. The Parley brought together key government officials and stakeholders to strengthen collaboration and advance the theme: “Inclusive Governance: Hands On for a Greater Lagos Rising.”
Key deliberations at the forum centred on addressing prevailing economic challenges, advocating for a special federal status for Lagos State, and advancing the constitutional recognition of the 37 Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs).
Similarly, the 19th Executive and Legislative Parley is expected to build on the achievements of the 2024 edition by bringing together key Government officials and stakeholders to further strengthen collaboration, enhance policy alignment, and deepen democratic engagement towards improved service delivery to Lagos residents.
