On 30th April 2025, the Inspector General Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu psc(+), NPM, paid a condolence visit to the family of late Asp Ejeh Alfred who died in active service.
Asp Ejeh Alfred until his death was a Police driver attached to Nigeria Police Airwing, Abuja.
On 17th April 2026, ASP Ejeh Alfred was involved in a fatal motor accident at Toro, Bauchi State while driving a Police Bowser conveying Jet A1 fuel from Akwanga to Yankari to refill Police Helicopter engaged in operation. As a result of the accident the ASP died on the spot.
On arrival at the home of the deceased ASP Ejeh Alfred on 30th April, 2026, the Inspector General Police was received by the Widow, Mrs Ejeh Mercy, her children, relations and Officers of the Nigeria Police Airwing.
In the entourage of the IGP was the Assistant Inspector General of Police, AIG Francis Idu, psc, AIG Mobile Police Force, AIG Uche Ifeanyi, AIG training and CP Nwogoh Martin, fdc, the
Commissioner of Police Airwing.
During the visit, the IGP sympathized with the wife and family of the late Asp Ejeh Alfred. He reassured them of Police support.
On behalf of the officers and men of the Police Airwing, CP Nwogoh Martin thanked the IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu psc(+) for his compassion and show of love. He notified the IGP that his visit has in no small way reassured officers and men of the Police Airwing and boosted their moral.
