Fubara Urges Unity, Sacrifice as Muslims Celebrate Eid-el-Kabir

The Governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara, has felicitated Muslim faithful in the state and across Nigeria on the occasion of Eid-el-Kabir, urging citizens to embrace the values of sacrifice, compassion, generosity, and unity.

In a statement issued on Tuesday by his Chief Press Secretary, Onwuka Nzeshi, Governor Fubara described the Islamic festival as a season for deep reflection and renewed commitment to peaceful coexistence among people of different faiths.

The governor commended the Muslim community for its contributions to peace, economic growth, and social harmony in Rivers State, stressing that religious diversity should serve as a source of strength rather than division.

According to him, Eid-el-Kabir presents an opportunity for both Muslims and non-Muslims to reaffirm their commitment to mutual respect, unity, and collective progress.

“As you gather with family, friends, and neighbours to share meals and offer prayers, I urge you to extend hands of kindness to the less privileged in our midst. Let the spirit of sacrifice that defines this festival inspire us to give more, forgive more, and love more,” Fubara stated.

He also prayed for Allah’s blessings upon Muslim faithful, asking God to accept their sacrifices, forgive their shortcomings, and grant them peace, good health, and prosperity.

Governor Fubara further expressed hope that the lessons of Eid-el-Kabir would inspire Nigerians to work towards a more just, united, and prosperous society.
