AUOMMATON Hails Tinubu, Makinde, Security Agencies Over Rescue of Abducted Oyo Pupils and Teachers

 


The National President of the Amalgamated Union of Motor Mechanics and Technicians of Nigeria (AUOMMATON), Egnr. Dr. Oseni Suleiman, has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, the Armed Forces of Nigeria and other security agencies for the successful rescue of the pupils and teachers abducted in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State.


In a statement issued on Sunday, Dr. Suleiman described the successful operation as a remarkable victory for Nigeria's security architecture and a clear demonstration that the Federal Government remains resolute in its determination to safeguard the lives and property of all Nigerians.


According to him, the safe return of the victims has brought immense relief to their families, the people of Oyo State and Nigerians at large, noting that the rescue has renewed public confidence in the ability of the nation's security institutions to confront criminal elements threatening the peace and stability of the country.


The AUOMMATON President particularly applauded President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for providing visionary leadership, strengthening the nation's security framework and giving the necessary support to the Armed Forces and other security agencies in the ongoing fight against terrorism, kidnapping, banditry and other violent crimes.


He also praised the Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde, for demonstrating responsible leadership throughout the unfortunate incident. He said the Governor's collaboration with the Federal Government and security agencies, as well as his commitment to the welfare of the affected families, reflected the qualities of a compassionate and responsive leader.


Dr. Suleiman further commended all the security agencies that participated in the operation, particularly the Armed Forces of Nigeria under the leadership of the Chief of Defence Staff, General Olufemi Oluyede, describing the rescue as another testament to the professionalism, bravery, discipline and resilience of the nation's military and other security personnel.


He noted that the operation has once again shown that with effective intelligence gathering, strategic coordination and sustained government support, criminal networks can be dismantled and innocent Nigerians protected.


The AUOMMATON President stressed that the successful rescue should inspire greater collaboration between government, security agencies and citizens in the collective effort to rid the country of insecurity.


He urged Nigerians to continue supporting the nation's security agencies by providing timely and credible information capable of preventing criminal activities, stressing that national security remains a shared responsibility requiring the cooperation of every patriotic citizen.


Dr. Suleiman also appealed to governments at all levels to sustain investments in modern security technology, intelligence gathering, surveillance, logistics and personnel welfare to consolidate the gains already recorded in the fight against insecurity. He emphasized the need for stronger security around schools and other public institutions to guarantee the safety of children and teachers across the country.


The AUOMMATON President further expressed sympathy and solidarity with the Chairman of AUOMMATON, Oyo State Council, Pastor Windoye Johnson Sunday, whose members and communities were directly affected by the unfortunate incident. He commended the Oyo State leadership of the union for standing firmly with the affected families throughout the difficult period and rejoiced with them on the successful rescue of the victims.
