The Commandant General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Prof. Ahmed Abubakar Audi, OFR, mni, today paid an official visit to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Office in Osun State as part of efforts to strengthen collaboration and security coordination ahead of the forthcoming Osun State Governorship Election.
The Commandant General was received by the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) for Osun State, Mr. Oluwatoyin Babalola, alongside National Commissioners of the Commission.
The visit provided an opportunity for the NSCDC leadership and INEC officials to engage on issues relating to electoral security, inter-agency cooperation, and the protection of personnel, facilities, and electoral materials throughout the electoral process.
Also in attendance were National Commissioners Dr. Ken Ikeagu, Prof. Sanni Mohammed Adam, Rear Admiral Jamila Sadiq, and A. T. Yusuf.
The engagement underscores the importance of sustained collaboration between INEC and security agencies in ensuring a peaceful, secure, and credible electoral process in Osun State.
With the governorship election scheduled for 15 August 2026, the visit further reaffirms the commitment of all stakeholders to ensuring a safe and secure environment for voters, election officials, observers, and other electoral actors.
