…Says Alli's Perfect Senate Representation, Sterling Contributions Make Him Most Qualified
The Chief Executive Officer of R.O.B Group and a staunch supporter of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's Renewed Hope Agenda, Otunba Olusoji Balogun, has declared that Senator Sharafadeen Alli is the best candidate to fly the flag of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and govern Oyo State in 2027.
Otunba Balogun, in a statement made available to journalists in Ibadan on Sunday, said after a careful assessment of all names being mentioned in the Oyo governorship race, Senator Alli stands out as the most experienced, most acceptable and most prepared.
"Without mincing words, Senator Sharafadeen Alli is the best for Oyo in 2027. He is a complete package - intellectually sound, administratively experienced, politically grounded and people-oriented. Oyo State needs a man like him at a time like this," Otunba Balogun said.
The business mogul and party chieftain premised his assertion on Senator Alli's perfect representation in the Senate and his immense contributions to Oyo State since he joined politics over two decades ago.
He noted that as Senator representing Oyo South Senatorial District, Senator Alli has distinguished himself with quality legislations, massive empowerment of constituents, facilitation of employment opportunities for youths, educational support programmes, and consistent presence at home - a feat he said many senators have failed to achieve.
"Oyo people can testify that this is the first time they are having a Senator who combines legislative brilliance with grassroots impact. From Ibadan to Ibarapa, the testimonies are everywhere. That is the kind of leader Oyo needs as Governor - someone who will perform and not disappear after election."
Otunba Balogun further described Senator Alli as a core progressive who shares the same political philosophy with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
"Senator Alli is a true progressive. He believes in the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Tinubu. He understands that governance is about putting the people first. His loyalty to our party, the APC, is unquestionable. He has paid his dues. He has the network to bring federal presence to Oyo State like never before," he stated.
Recalling Senator Alli's rich political profile as formerly Chairman, Ibadan North Local Government, former Chief of Staff to Governor Lam Adesina, former Secretary to the Oyo State Government under Governor Abiola Ajimobi, and now Senator, Otunba Balogun said such depth of experience cannot be bought in the market.
"Governance is not for learners. Oyo cannot afford to gamble in 2027. We need a tested and trusted hand. Senator Sharafadeen Alli has passed through the ranks, he knows the system, he knows the people, and the people know him. He is loved in Oke-Ogun, accepted in Oyo, and celebrated in Ibadanland and Ibarapaland."
He therefore called on leaders and members of the APC in Oyo State to close ranks and vote Senator Alli as the capable for the return of the progressive party to Agodi Government House in 2027.
"With Senator Sharafadeen Alli as our governorship candidate, APC will win convincingly in Oyo State. He is the bridge between the young and the old, between the rich and the poor, and between Ibadan and other zones. He is the best choice for a united and prosperous Oyo State."
