I am passionate about my People, Late Adeyinka Oyekan's grandson declares

 


The Councillor, representing the people of Ward C in Lagos Island Local Government Area and a grandson of the Late Oba of Lagos, Adeyinka Oyekan, Hon Prince Taiwo Ajibade Oyekan has declared that he is passionate about his people and that he will always support them, empower them so that their hardship will be reduced.



Speaking with this medium on Friday at the Kolawole Ajibade Oyekan Foundation office in Isale Eko, the young politician reiterated his determination to continue to support his constituents.



In his words, "as a Legislator, who is saddled with the responsibility of making bye laws and legislating in the Council on issues affecting the people at the grassroots, I feel it is incumbent on me to continue to assist the Executive arm in improving the welfare of the constituents of my Ward"


Continuing "on why l decided to embark on empowerment of the constituents of my Ward by empowering young and old artisans with sewing machines, hair dressing, barbing and shoe making equipments, including sinking of boreholes and scholarship to indigent students. I have passion for service to humanity and as the grandson of Late Oba Oyekan of Lagos and the first among that lineage to go into politics, I vow not to tarnish the name of the royal family"



Hon. Taiwo Oyekan equally used the opportunity to appeal to his people to continue to have faith in the Tinubu  presidency and that things will take  shape for the best soon.



"Interestingly, to cushion the effect of economic hardship in the land  which is globally, and as a disciple of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ,l am about to spend #10million which l have saved from my salaries and imprest as a Council legislative member, from my foundation and personal businesses, by giving out #25,000 to 400 vulnerable persons beyond political party affiliation to complement the effort of the federal, state and my local government" he concluded.
