Solicits Citizens' Support, Cooperation
Assistant Inspector General of Police, AIG Fayoade Mustapha Adegoke, on Tuesday officially assumed duty at the Zone 2 Police Command Headquarters in Onikan - Lagos, a statement by the command's spokesperson (ZPPRO), SP Ayuba T. Umma disclosed.
Fayoade, who took over from AIG Olatoye Durosinmi, following his retirement on August 19, 2024, is the 32nd AIG for the zone.
The new AIG, who hails from Ila-Orangun in the Ila Local Government Area of Osun State, was enlisted into the Nigeria Police Force as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) on May 18, 1992.
He holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Education from the University of Lagos, a Diploma certificate in Political Science, LLB (Hons) from the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) and a Master Degree in Public Administration, also from the University of Lagos.
He is a seasoned Police officer, a strategist and crime fighter, who has served the Force meritoriously in various capacities.
Prior to his recent elevation to the enviable rank of Assistant Inspector General of Police and posted to the Zone 2 Command Headquarters, comprising Lagos and Ogun state commands, Fayoade was Commissioner of Police in-charge of Lagos State Command.
While soliciting the support and cooperation of the good people of Lagos and Ogun states, AIG Fayoade assured that his leadership would be citizen-friendly, problem-solving, rule of law compliant, and intelligence-based proactive policing in the zone.
