Dear Lagosians,
As we celebrate the 64th Independence Day of our beloved nation, let us remember that beyond a natural right, freedom is a state of mind that empowers us to achieve greatness and create the most inspiring things.
In the spirit of this celebration, on behalf of our leader and mentor; Rt Hon (Dr) Mudashiru Ajayi Obasa; Mr Speaker, Principal Officers and Distinguished colleagues, I extend our heartfelt wishes to you all today 1st October, 2024. Let us refocus our efforts and rededicate ourselves to the collective rebuilding of our nation. Our freedom is truly meaningful when coupled with good governance, the right leadership, and committed citizens.
In the midst of all these challenges and uncertainties, it is crucial that we hold onto the flame of hope, for it is hope that guides us towards a brighter tomorrow.
Our beloved nation has faced its fair share of trials, but history has shown that we are a resilient and tenacious people.
Let us remember that in our diversity lies our strength.
Lagos is a tapestry of cultures, languages, and traditions, and it is this rich tapestry that makes us unique.
Together, we can build a future where this diversity is celebrated and used as a source of unity and progress.
We must also believe in the power of education. Through knowledge and innovation, we can transform our nation into a global powerhouse.
Every child deserves access to quality education, and it is our collective responsibility to ensure this becomes a reality.
As we navigate the challenges of today, let us not lose sight of the potential that lies within each of us. It is our resilience, creativity, and determination that will shape the Nigeria of tomorrow.
In unity, we can overcome adversity.
Let us work together, transcending tribal, religious, and political boundaries, to build a nation we are all proud to call home.
Our future as a nation is bright, and together, we can make it even brighter.
Happy Independence Day to you all!
