The Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on Housing, Barrister Bakarat Odunuga-Bakare has disclosed that Lagos State Real Estate Regulatory Authority (LASRERA) has concluded plans to host its highly anticipated 5th Real Estate Marketplace Conference and Exhibitions on Tuesday, 10th and Wednesday, 11th December, respectively.
Addressing the media in Alausa on Thursday, the Special Adviser stated that the event will feature exhibitions showcasing cutting-edge technologies, sustainable building materials, and innovative housing solutions.
According to her, the event will bring together key stakeholders, real estate practitioners, investors, and policymakers with government officials to discuss emerging trends and sustainable practices shaping the real estate landscape.
In her words, “This year’s conference is focused on driving innovation and ensuring that sustainability remains at the forefront of real estate development in Lagos State”.
"Participants will also have the opportunity to engage in panel discussions and interactive sessions with industry experts, addressing issues such as affordable housing, regulatory compliance, and environmental sustainability.
"LASRERA has consistently championed transparency and accountability in the real estate sector through initiatives such as the Real Estate Marketplace Conference. The platform serves as a bridge between the government and the private sector, facilitating dialogue and collaboration to address challenges in the industry", she said.
The Special Adviser emphasised the Lagos State Government’s commitment to creating an enabling environment for real estate investors while protecting the interests of property buyers and tenants.
She noted that Lagos, as one of the fastest-growing cities in the world, must adopt sustainable practices to manage rapid urbanization, meet housing demands, and safeguard environmental integrity.
“Lagos is a major economic hub in Africa, and the real estate sector plays a pivotal role in driving this growth. However, the rapid development of our urban spaces must not come at the expense of safety, sustainability, and resilience,” Odunuga-Bakare emphasised.
She also reiterated the state’s commitment to ensuring transparency, accountability, and professionalism in the real estate sector. The Lagos State Real Estate Regulatory Authority (LASRERA) is being strengthened to enforce compliance, monitor standards, and promote transparency among practitioners.
