Barely a month after his election and inauguration, the Executive Chairman of Agege local government, Hon Tunde Azeez, popularly known as Tunde Disco had written to the leadership of the legislative arm to announce that he will be embarking on medical leave and also to inform that his vice Chairman, Ganiyu Vinod Obasa,son of the Lagos State House of Assembly will be Acting Chairman throughout his absence
There were speculations to during the race for the exalted position that the Speaker backing the then Aspirant Tunde Azeez was just to pave the way for his son to become Chairman as they claimed Tunde Disco is battling a serious ailment, which has kept him away from public glare until he was dragged into the chairmanship race
With the announcement of his embarking on medical leave ,those opposed to his emergence have been vindicated and are blaming the speaker for forcing an unit council chairman on the council area
Another troubling angle to the information is the fact that he failed to indicate the duration of his medical leave,which has left the political class divided in the council area,with some alleging that the council area has been surrendered to the Speaker and his cohorts
