The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Seme Area Command, on Thursday, 18 September 2025, decorated and celebrated the promotion of 66 senior officers at the ECOWAS Complex, Seme-Krake Joint Border Post.
In his address, the Customs Area Controller (CAC), Comptroller Wale Adenuga, described the promotion as both an honour and a call to greater responsibility.
“This promotion should be received with humility. It is not a licence for pride but a call to higher service. Carry your junior colleagues along, celebrate one another, and let us make Seme Area Command the pride of the Service,” he urged.
Reaffirming the Command’s commitment to the CGC’s leadership vision, the Area Controller said, “Our guiding mantra remains trade facilitation. Seme Command will continue to intensify stakeholder engagements to ensure this border remains a model in the West African sub-region.”
Speaking on behalf of the decorated officers, Chief Superintendent of Customs (CSC) Oreyeni Olufemi expressed gratitude to the Service’s leadership, colleagues, and families. “We are grateful for this recognition, and we pledge to justify the confidence reposed in us by rededicating ourselves to excellence and the success of the Nigeria Customs Service,” he said.
The ceremony was attended by heads of sister security agencies at the JBP, including the Nigeria Immigration Service, DSS, NDLEA, NAFDAC, Port Health Service, NAQS, and the EOD/Anti-Bomb Unit.
