Sports Development: Lagos Inaugurates Registration Point For New Intakes

 

The Lagos State Sports Commission under the leadership of Director General, Lekan Fatodu, has unveiled a registration point for the newly intakes as part of the strategies adopted in talent identification, nurturing and further development.

Speaking while addressing journalists at the registration point for the newly registered athletes at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Surulere, Fatodu disclosed that the state is bringing innovation to the process of identification of talents. 

"We are also bringing innovation to the process of engaging and empowering our future talents. I believes this is the first of its kind across the country. We want to have an identity and properly registered intakes in order to avoid a situation where our athletes will be anonymous.

Fatodu said, we are confident that this initiative will bring significant improvements in sports development, identifying gaps and areas for enhancement. The program applies to both junior and senior athletes, building on the success achieved with under-15 athletes, where parental engagement was crucial.

While acknowledging the reforms and revitalization undertaking by the commission, Fatodu noted that it is strategically designed to monitor the athletes improvement and to properly position them for opportunities.

Atheletes can register on the digital platform or obtain physical form to ensure their data is captured and track .
