Residents of Ojora Isale-Ebute community, comprising eleven streets,Led by Omoba Ajibola Odunsi Ojora have made a passionate appeal to the Lagos State Goverment and His Royal Majesty, Oba Dr. Abdul-Fatai Aremu Oyeyinka Aromire Oyegbemi II, the Oba of Ojora, regarding the proposed demolition of their homes.
The affected streets include Tide Gate Street, Ajibola Odunsi Street, Church Street, Fatai Sulaiman Street, Ebute Street, Oyegbe Street, Aromire Street, Ali-Balogun Street, Sanni-Balogun Street, Odofin Court, and Kalili Street.
Community members from the Ijora Isale -Ebute in Apapa Local Government staged a peaceful protest to draw attention to their plight.
The protesters walked from tide gate Street to the palace of the monarch at Ijora Oloye Community, expressing their concerns about the impending demolition notice that has thrown the community into anxiety.
In response to the residents' concerns, Oba Oyegbemi II accompanied by the Bashorun and Odofin of Ojora Kingdom addressed the worried community members, revealing that the palace had not received any official communication from any government agency regarding the proposed demolition.
The traditional ruler, while acknowledging the concerns of the residents, urged community members to remain calm and continue to be law-abiding citizens as efforts are made to clarify the situation.
