Imo/Abia Customs Reinforces Strategic Alliance with FRSC in Owerri

 



In a bid to strengthen inter-agency cooperation, Customs Area Controller of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) Imo/Abia Area Command, Comptroller of Customs Blessing Ihenacho, received the newly deployed Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Road Safety (RS) 9.4 Imo Sector Command, Corps Commander Nimota Okoro, during a courtesy visit to the command headquarters in Owerri on 20 April 2026.


In a press statement signed on 22 May 2026 by the command's Public Relations Officer, on behalf of CAC, the visit aimed to reinforce the existing partnership between the NCS and the FRSC and to promote operational efficiency and security in Imo State.



Receiving the delegation alongside senior officers of the command, Comptroller Ihenacho described the visit as timely, stressing the importance of sustained collaboration among security and paramilitary agencies.


“Collaboration among sister agencies remains critical to achieving effective service delivery and improving national security. We will continue to strengthen our relationship with the FRSC in line with the policy thrust of the Comptroller-General of Customs,” she said.


Speaking during the engagement, Corps Commander Okoro said the visit was part of efforts to familiarise herself with the operations of the NCS and deepen the cordial working relationship between both agencies.


“The FRSC values its partnership with the NCS. Strengthening this collaboration is important in enhancing coordination, safety, and efficient service delivery within the state,” she stated.


Comptroller Ihenacho further appreciated the support of the RS 9.4 Sector Command in facilitating driver’s licence processing for officers of the Imo/Abia Area Command.
