The National Directorate of Employment (NDE) and International Returns Reintegration Assistance (IRARA) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to address migration reintegration challenges in Nigeria. The partnership brings together key stakeholders, including migration agencies, Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, and Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN), to support returnees and migrants.
The NDE Director-General, H.E Silas Ali Agara, highlighted the importance of inter-agency collaboration, praising IRARA and NDE's legal team for crafting a workable document. The partnership builds on existing initiatives, such as the Renewed Hope Restoration Project launched by the National Commission for Refugees, Migrants, and Internally Displaced Persons (NCFRMI) and National Agricultural Land Development Authority (NALDA).
IRARA's leader, Mr. Paul Nwankwo, commended NDE's commitment to the project's success and emphasized the need for stakeholder collaboration to ensure effective implementation. This partnership aims to promote economic growth, reduce poverty, and enhance the well-being of vulnerable populations in Nigeria.
