Lagos Assembly Spokesperson,Hon Ogundipe Emerges Legislative Communicator of The Year




The Spokesperson of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. (Otunba) Olukayode Stephen Ogundipe, has been named the Most Transparent Legislative Communicator of the Year 2025 at the National Ethics and Values Awards (NEVA). The ceremony was held on Friday, 31 October 2025, in Abuja.


The National Ethics and Values Award, themed “Building a Culture of Ethics for Tomorrow- Reflecting on our Journey, Inspiring a Future Grounded in Accountability and Moral Courage,” was jointly organised by the National Orientation Agency (NOA), the Anti-Corruption Academy of Nigeria (ACAN), the Federal Ministry of Youth Development, and the Institute of Management, Leadership and Productivity Development (IMLPD), in collaboration with the Office of the Minister of State for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). The award recognises individuals and institutions demonstrating outstanding commitment to national values, ethical conduct, and public accountability.



Ambassador Dele Moses, Convener of NEVA, announced Hon. Ogundipe’s selection following a competitive public nomination process and a comprehensive evaluation by a panel of eminent judges. He commended the Lagos lawmaker for his exemplary role in promoting integrity, transparency, and responsible legislative communication.


According to Moses, Hon. Ogundipe’s recognition was based on key performance attributes, including:

• Promotion of accountability and openness in legislative communication

• Trusted representation of the Lagos State House of Assembly

• Consistent commitment to honesty, fairness, and transparency

• Strengthening of public trust through civic engagement and enlightenment


“It is with profound honour and delight that we present the 2025 National Ethics & Values Award for the Most Transparent Legislative Communicator of the Year to you following a rigorous public nomination process,” Moses stated. “Your contributions to ethical communication, political accountability, and public enlightenment continue to strengthen trust between governance and the people.”


In addition to the NEVA honour, Hon. Ogundipe received a Fellowship of the Institute of Management, Leadership and Productivity Development (FIMLPD), conferred at no cost in recognition of his distinguished public service, value-based leadership, and contributions to administrative excellence.


The event, attended by key national leaders and thought-shapers, underscored the role of ethical leadership in nation-building. Guest Speaker, Prof. Olatunde Babawale, Provost of the Anti-Corruption Academy of Nigeria, emphasized the importance of personal integrity in achieving national transformation. Keynote Speaker, Mallam Lanre Issa-Onilu, Director-General of the National Orientation Agency, reiterated the critical role of sustained civic communication in deepening democratic trust and accountability.


Other distinguished attendees included retired General Theophilus Yakubu Danjuma, who served as Father of the Day; former Governor of Ekiti State, Dr. John Kayode Fayemi, Chairman of the Day; HRM Olori Ivie Emiko (Olori Atuwatse III), Royal Mother of the Day; and the Honourable Minister of Youth Development, Ayodele Olawande.


Organizers affirmed that integrity and communication are pillars of effective democracy and described Hon. Ogundipe’s award as a commendable testament to leadership rooted in service, transparency, and public trust.

  1. Hon. Stephen Ogundipe has been performing excellently well since he came into office. Very dedicated and committed to humanitarian and social activities, Oshodi has been in the news several time bcos of his good works. Kudos to you sir.
